Meet Aline

Certified Postpartum Doula, BS in Women’s studies

Looking for a doula that combines the gentleness of an old friend, the wisdom of a loving aunt, and the insight into tiny humans that only a long time childcare provider can offer? You have found it in Aline. Bringing together years of service to families, Aline offers a holistic approach to new parents and birthing folks who are looking for daytime support that is warm, flexible, and quietly nurturing. Being patient with babies comes naturally to this doula. Aline deeply respects the process of becoming a parent, and gives everyone the space to grow into their new roles in the family.

Aline knows the power of community after starting and living in an intentional community the past 11 years. Flexibility and compromise are two qualities that make community—and service to new families—really work well. We are so happy to offer Aline to our ABC Doula families.

More About Aline

Aline (they/them) loves to create the kind of support that families wish was built right in…the kind of support that welcomes you home with gentleness, willing hands, and a flexible approach that helps you without any expectations.

Aline is the parent of 2 daughters, lives in an intentional community with her partner, and has been a certified postpartum doula for the past 2 years. Their experience includes working with families that experience breastfeeding difficulties, sleep struggles, multiples, postpartum anxiety and depression, and some with fussy babies. They also love to prepare homemade meals for those recovering from birth or the sleep deprivation of a new infant.

Some of the additional trainings Aline has completed include:

·       Racial Equity in Birthwork

·       Trauma Informed Care

·       Foundations for Best Practice in Lactation Care

·       When Survivors Give Birth

·       NICU Support Training

·       Supporting Families with Multiples

Aline would describe their doula care as calm and grounded, detail oriented, caring, compassionate, and pretty flexible with what they can offer families. On top of infant and new parent care, they love to interact with siblings and help with sibling transition, do household tasks and light cleaning and tidying, run errands, and especially to offer education and information on available resources.

In Aline’s words:

I love helping connect families with appropriate resources and referrals. I also bring a very calm and grounded energy into clients' homes. I am good at sitting with birthing people, listening to their thoughts and feelings, and providing emotional support. I am also a detail oriented person, so I am usually good at doing tasks for families in the way they ask for. I like helping new parents with infant care education and information (while respecting that each parent has their own way and their own wisdom).

With over 35 years of experience in the kitchen, Aline is well-versed in making many kinds of soups and stews, scrambles, waffles, muffins and quick breads, lactation cookies, and for a new parent treat, an excellent carrot cake to celebrate! Some of their most requested dishes are stir-fried chicken, rice bowls, roasted or sauteed vegetables, salads with homemade dressing, French beef stew, chili, cornbread, and chicken tikka masala. They are also respectful of others in the kitchen and happy to bring a simple cup of tea, refill snack plates and water, and insure that food is nourishment is served if others are bringing food over.

Aline’s world includes not only their partner Tony and two school age girls, but also an intentional community sharing space and connection since 2014. As a family, they like to watch films, ride bikes, read, garden, sing and play music, and make things out of wood and metal. The community they started includes traditional homes and some tiny homes, a wood shop, and a bike shop. They spend quite a bit of time within the community eating Sunday dinners, working on projects, tending to the land, and celebrating holidays and events together.

You will love welcoming Aline into your postpartum space, creating warmth and rest and filling all the gaps of care.
