Did you know that doulas make healing food? And they can help feed you after birth, rebuild your body back to strength and resilience, and support your nutrition for making milk, recovering after surgery, or maximizing your energy after the sleep deprivation that comes with bringing a newborn into your world?

If you have read the book THE FIRST 40 DAYS you are probably familiar with an eating plan that focuses on nurturing food that soothes the body and helps recover from the massive shifts that happen in pregnancy and birth. Having a doula makes this plan a possibility while you are also cared for by a professional who knows what families need to thrive.

Postpartum doulas can get you settled in bed happily nursing your baby, sneak off to the kitchen to get a warm soothing meal prepared, and then serve it up to you on a breakfast tray while we change diapers or soothe baby so you can eat your warm food with both hands snuggled in your bed.
Sound like a dream? It's not. Doulas do this every day.
